The Podlaski Agricultural Advisory Center in Szepietowo, together with the Polish Maize Producers Association in Poznan, invite you to the National Maize Day on September 10. The planned event is the largest in the Podlaskie province for growers and lovers of the golden grain. As every year, the organizers have prepared plenty of attractions, among which everyone will find something for themselves and have a nice time.

The National Corn Day is a cyclical event aimed at farmers, rural residents, scientists and students of agricultural schools and companies associated with the agro industry. During the September meeting, participants will have the opportunity to compare as many as 130 different varieties of maize and deepen their knowledge of growing this grain. Advisors of the Podlaskie Agricultural Advisory Center in Szepietow and representatives of 20 seed companies will provide assistance and professional consultation. A major attraction at the maize festival will be innovative demonstrations involving the most modern agricultural equipment for agrotechnical operations. The harvesting of maize for grain and silage and the management of crop residues will be presented. Among the many attractions, there will also be tastings of maize dishes.

The National Maize Days are designed to familiarise farmers with the production possibilities of this plant and its usefulness in many areas of the economy. Breeding and seed companies, representatives of experimental stations and, above all, seed distributors will be presenting more than 130 varieties of maize. Before the event, some of the plants will be collected to give visitors free access to the variety plots. They will be able to view them, compare them and, above all, order seeds for next year. The event will also include field demonstrations and a presentation of the means of production used in cultivation – explains prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Michalski, president of the PZPK.
